CLEANING AND LUBRICATING

We made our hardware with 17-4PH stainless steel, the strongest alloy in its class.  While "marine-grade" has superior rust prevention properties, 17-4PH is THREE TIMES stronger.  So we went with that.  It's very resistant to rust and corrosion, but not quite as much as its snobby, yaught cruisin' cousin, Marine Grade.  SO:

 

  • USE A DRY LUBE once per year, or more often if you live in a humid climate
  • See illustrations of where to apply the lube to keep it squeeky clean and squeak-free.
